The Port Authority of Rio de Janeiro launches a responsive and cost-free website

The Port Authority of Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) has developed a more agile, interactive and easy-to-navigate website, with a renewed interface and straightforward and simplified functionalities. The new portal, launched last Wednesday (3), is part of the modernization process of the Port Authority, responsible for managing the ports of Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói and Angra dos Reis.

The website, which is one of Docas do Rio's main communication channels with the external public, was created internally, under the coordination of the Structuring and Construction of Solutions Management. The initiative not only avoided expenses with hiring a company specialized in design, but it will also generate savings in maintenance. This is because the CMS (Content Management System) used was Drupal, indicated for business websites due to its flexibility and security. As it is a popular tool, a company technician with basic knowledge of Drupal will be able to update the content and the system.

One of the main features of the new website is its responsiveness, that is, the website automatically adapts to the screens of any user's device, be it a computer, tablet or smartphone. In addition, the portal is being built in accordance with the company's current management guidelines, which reflect efficiency, dynamism and transparency, based on ethical, moral and legal principles. The site also complies with the guidelines of the Ministry of Infrastructure, to which the company is subordinate, and the technical standards established by the Ministry of Communications.

As for the services offered, they are basically the same as the previous site, but emphasis was placed on the commercial area, with the sections “Business Opportunities” and “Public Calls” highlighted. Among the news, company news is now shown on the main page as slides (the five most recent) and a link takes the reader to the list of titles in order of publication. There is also a subject search system.
