Docas do Rio participates in international mission in Dubai
Aiming at prospecting the UAE market, exchanging experiences and expanding knowledge of best practices and new technologies for the improvement of port activity, Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) will participate in the “Missão Internacional do Brasil Export 2021 ”, during Expo 2020 Dubai, from November 12th to 19th.
With the approval of the Ministry of Infrastructure (Minfra), the Director of Business and Sustainability at Docas do Rio, Jean Paulo Castro e Silva, will represent the Port Authority, responsible for the administration of the ports of Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói and Angra dos Reis . The delegation is also made up of representatives from the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq), Companhia Docas do Ceará (CDC), Companhia Docas do Pará (CDP), Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (Codesa), Santos Port Authority ( SPA), by Portos do Paraná, by DP World Santos, by Fórum Brasil Export, by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), among other public and private institutions.
The Brazilian delegation's program is extensive and includes technical seminars, guided tours to the Expo pavilions, business network and technical visits, among other activities. On the 14th, at 3 pm, for example, there will be the meeting “Investment Opportunities in Brazilian Ports”, in which the director Jean Paulo will be one of the speakers. Another highlight, on the 17th, is the visit to the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), an industrial area around the port of Jebel Ali. On the 18th, the delegation will take a knowledge tour of the distribution centers and logistical solutions adopted in Dubai and another tour of the capital's green economy centers.
About Expo 2020 - Expo Universal is a gigantic world meeting that periodically brings together more than 190 countries and addresses topics such as culture, art, technology, innovation, architectural works, design and human excellence. The main objective is to facilitate dialogues and ideas to preserve the planet and shape a better future. The event, organized by the Bureau International des Expositions, takes place for the first time in the Middle East since the 1st of October and continues until the 31st of March 2022.
